How do I find cheap flights to London?

I'm looking for cheap flights to London that leave on the 9th July from Glasgow and return on the 11th July but am finding it hard to find anything of the sort.

Why fly? Have a look at www.virgintrains.co.uk and check the rail prices, it may be cheaper than flying and probably a lot quicker when you add check in time and the time it takes to get to the airports in to the city. plus trains are a lot more comfy and your ears dont pop ! =D.

I just checked and its about £90 return but if you play around with the times I'm sure you will find it cheaper.

Glasgow to Luton or Stansted with Easy Jet costs £75 return.

From Luton or Stansted you can catch the train or coach.

Check out Easy Bus which might offer cheaper busses. On Ryanair website you can buy discounted Stansted Express Tickets. Even if you don't fly with them.

Also, be wary of 'discount' places you see in the mall.... they don't tell you that those flights they advertise include 100's of dollars in taxes, airport fees, national security fees...blah blah blah....

What really is the best website to find cheap flights around the world?

I know there are dozens out there. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me which one really is the best for finding cheap fares for international flights.

Also, any tips in terms of looking for cheap flights? Times to look? Certain airlines? (I know about ryanair) Seat sales?

farecast.com is the best for me because it compares several airlines, times, number of stops, etc. It also has a historical fare predictor which pretty accurately will tell you when to buy or wait due to fluctuations in ticket prices.

I always just use yahoo travel. They will link you up to any sites that sell discount tickets (expedia, travelocity, orbitz, etc). You might also wan to try red tag deals. Often the prices are similar between all of the sites. Just make sure to check to see if the price that you are seeing includes all fees and taxes or not. We have found in the past that certain sites will seem a lot cheaper, but they don't include the fees, which can be hundreds of dollars, depending on where you are flying to and from. We normally book through expedia, because we know that the price on the screen is what we pay.

If you are looking for cheaper flights, it is best to fly mid-week. Also, keep checking back with the airline that you want to book through to get the best price. Often, they will discount flights closer to the date if they haven't sold out. Also, check for departures not only from where you live, but also from places that are in driving distance. Often smaller airports will have more expensive flights.

What are generally some cheap flights leaving out of chicago?

I know there's certain cities that have a lot of flights going to them from chicago and are generally very cheap like dirt cheap. Bored of Chicago and want to take a couple short weekend trips just friday saturday sunday. what are some cities that have cheap flights going to them from chicago and what do they generally run?

I'm flying out of Chicago on March 17th actually. First time flying, and all I did was go on AA.com and got tickets for a tuesday... $99 and thats across the country. Now thats a ONE way.

All together it was around $216 for tickets. Pretty dang cheap.

United Airlines has e-fares starting on Tuesdays that you can get really cheap fares if you aren't tied to days. There are some restrictions on when you can travel, though, so not sure if you are flexible. You could just pick a city that interests you and go!

Well I just went on travelocity.com for you. As for weekend deals, say next weekend, there's a lot of "Last Minute Packages" available. To go somewhere here in the country..domestic vacations are 200-300 per person for the whole package. Or if you wanna leave the country and go to either Europe or the Caribbean, its like 600-800 per person for the weekend.

We plan to fly Saturday 5th April and it's a one way flight needed for 2 people preferably am or lunchtime flight.

easyJet fly out of Luton and Stanstead to Edinburgh. The fares vary from day to day, but for the 5th April the cheapest from Luton is coming up at £31.99 each, but this is 21:15 flight. The one nearest lunchtime (dep 14:35) is £49.99 each. (Flights from Stanstead that day are more expensive).

To go somewhere here in the country..domestic vacations are 200-300 per person for the whole package. Or if you wanna leave the country and go to either Europe or the Caribbean, its like 600-800 per person for the weekend.

I'm flying out of Chicago on March 17th actually. First time flying, and all I did was go on AA.com and got tickets for a tuesday... $99 and thats across the country. Now thats a ONE way.

All together it was around $216 for tickets. Pretty dang cheap.

easyJet fly out of Luton and Stanstead to Edinburgh. The fares vary from day to day, but for the 5th April the cheapest from Luton is coming up at £31.99 each, but this is 21:15 flight. The one nearest lunchtime (dep 14:35) is £49.99 each. (Flights from Stanstead that day are more expensive).

What really is the best website to find cheap flights around the world?

I know there are dozens out there. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me which one really is the best for finding cheap fares for international flights.

Also, any tips in terms of looking for cheap flights? Times to look? Certain airlines? (I know about ryanair) Seat sales?

farecast.com is the best for me because it compares several airlines, times, number of stops, etc. It also has a historical fare predictor which pretty accurately will tell you when to buy or wait due to fluctuations in ticket prices.

I always just use yahoo travel. They will link you up to any sites that sell discount tickets (expedia, travelocity, orbitz, etc). You might also wan to try red tag deals. Often the prices are similar between all of the sites. Just make sure to check to see if the price that you are seeing includes all fees and taxes or not. We have found in the past that certain sites will seem a lot cheaper, but they don't include the fees, which can be hundreds of dollars, depending on where you are flying to and from. We normally book through expedia, because we know that the price on the screen is what we pay.

If you are looking for cheaper flights, it is best to fly mid-week. Also, keep checking back with the airline that you want to book through to get the best price. Often, they will discount flights closer to the date if they haven't sold out. Also, check for departures not only from where you live, but also from places that are in driving distance. Often smaller airports will have more expensive flights.

How do you find cheap flights for groups?

For group travel, if you can get away with it, I recommend using Companion Airfare vouchers.

You basically buy 1 regular price ticket & get the 2nd ticket free for your companion. Sometimes those travel centers get fussy if you spell out for them that it's for group travel, but if each person only books a flight with one other person & doesn't wear matching t shirts when they check in, you could save a ton of $!

If you look online you can find them - here is one site I know that offers them - they might have a good hotel deal in Houston too, I don't know all the locations they offer - good luck!

Call Continental, and a couple of other airlines and ask for a group specialist.

Have an idea what the normal rate is for that weekend before you call, so you can see if they are giving you a good rate.

You may also want to consider Newark airport (EWR) . More often than not they have better fares than LGA

With a group that size you might be able to get a special rate on a charter flight. Ask your local travel agents about it. That's what I did when I went to Cozumel with a group of 20.

Just make sure everyone's committed to it. I had one guy in the group who put down a deposit and then flaked out and decided not to go at the last minute when I'd already bought the tickets.
